Breheda Salinas Aiona, 87, of Kapaau died June 4 at home. Born in Pepeekeo, she was a professional waitress at the Mauna Kea Beach, Hapuna Beach Prince and former Naniloa hotels and member of International Longshore and Warehouse Union, and Fil-Am Women’s Softball League. Celebration of life gathering at a later date. Survived by sons, Martin (Lynette) Ellazar of Kailua-Kona, Robert (Debbie) Ellazar of Makapala, Shannon (Emely) Aiona of Kauai and Jessie Aiona of Kapaau; brother, Jose (Maria) Salinas of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Julita (Rudy) Silan of San Diego, Rita Daniel of Wyoming and Gloria Grider of Hilo; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Charles S. “Chuck” Greene Jr., 85, of Pahoa died June 5 at Infinity House Care in Las Vegas. He was a U.S. Air Force retiree and former owner of Pahoa Puna Buy &Sell. Service at 6 p.m. Survived by wife, Madeline “Aunty Madie” Greene; hanai children, Brian (Monalisa) Hyatt, Terri-Ann (William) Quinn, Carla Hyatt Davis, Stephanie Hyatt and Renee (Vaughn) Arnold; sister, Patricia Dankievitch; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Angeline Kahumoku, 83, of Kailua-Kona died June 13 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kealakekua, she was a manager and business owner of several restaurants. Services at a later date. Survived by daughter, Lori (Con) Tsotsoros of Melbourne, Australia; hanai daughter, Vicki (Brad) Picking of Kailua-Kona; brother, William (Sharon) Dunaway of North Dakota; half-brother, Roscoe (Gayle) Kahumoku of Enterprise, Ala.; sister, Lori (Robbie) Roberts of Orlando, Fla.; a grandson; nieces, nephews and cousins. Marie Makaiwakukahakai Loa Kelson, 87, of Hilo died June 15 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a 1954 graduate of Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama, U.S. Marine Corps veteran, bartender, front desk clerk and account clerk at the former Naniloa Hotel, worked for Gumapac Co., attended Malia Puka O Kalani and St. Joseph Catholic churches, and enjoyed family, cooking, sewing, reading and sudoku. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Saturday (July 8) at Kawananakoa Hall, 156 Baker Ave. in Keaukaha. Celebration of Life at 10 a.m. Casual attire. John David Kim, 98, of Hilo died June 20 at home. Born in Honaunau, he was a retired head custodian at Waiakeawaena Elementary School, former equipment operator for Kuwaye Trucking and other trucking companies, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and U.S. Army veteran during World War II. Visitation 8–9 a.m. Thursday (July 6) at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo. Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. Burial 11:30 a.m. at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire. Survived by daughters, Mary Ann (John) Andrade of Ahualoa and Malina Nakamura of Hilo; sister, Bernice Paik of Waimanalo; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
